Introduction
We have gathered to recall and celebrate the entrance of our God as Word made flesh in Salvation history. For centuries, the Jewish people had longed for the coming of the Messiah, the anointed one of God who would set them free and restore their glory. The longings of the ages were fulfilled in Christ Jesus, yet we wait for him to come again and set all things right. The prophecies had foretold that the Savior would come from family of David and the lineage of Jesse. In Christ we behold the promise brought forth. Let us reflect on the events of Christ's birth.
